ABA Services - School Setting
School ABA Therapy for Autism and Behavioral Disorders
We provide school-based Applied Behavior Analysis treatment (ABA therapy) for children with autism and other conditions with challenging behaviors. It is a process of defining target behaviors, recording behavioral data, analyzing data, and making changes to treatments that are not effective.
Using ABA in the classroom can be effective for any behavior-related disorder or disease. An ABA education has been found to be beneficial for children with:
Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder
Autism Spectrum Disorder
Obsessive Compulsive Disorder
Speech and Language Impediments
Traumatic Brain Injuries
The goal of ABA is to change and improve socially significant behavior, improve communication skills, social skills, and learning skills. It’s backed by years of research, practice, and empirical data on behavioral reinforcements. ABA can have beneficial effects on students as well as teachers and can be used to help all children learn new skills and improve their quality of life.
Functional Behavior Assessment
An FBA is a federally mandated assessment that schools are legally obligated to complete in certain circumstances. Although there are additional legal details about when and how to provide an FBA a school must complete an FBA, according to the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) Amendments of 1997, when a student with a disability displays behavior that interferes with his or her learning or the learning of others.
Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)
A Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) provides behavior-analytic services, supervises the work of Board-Certified Assistant Behavior Analysts (BCaBAs), Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs), applied behavior analysis (ABA) therapists, and others who implement behavior-analytic interventions. BCBAs are certified by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board.
